I was just thinking about the fact that I never feel like updating my livejournal when all of a sudden I see that my inbox, which has been decidedly lonely, tells me that I have one new message. So I click it, thinking that perhaps it's a group getting on me for my lack of activity or what not, and to my surprise I see this:

At this risk of sounding like a loser, I have to say that receiving William R. Washington's comment was a pleasant surprise that quite easily made my day. If you pay attention to any post I make you can usually find that I'm listening to an episode of RBR so you can probably gather that I'm a huge fan of the show. And if that isn't what you've gathered then in plain letters: I'm a huge fan of the show. This probably isn't Earth-shattering news to anyone and it probably shouldn't have been the inspiration for an entry but the sad truth is that it's pretty exciting in my world.

In other random RBR news: a while ago, I was going through my only surviving copy of WOW Magazine and I was reading the mailbag just for the heck of it when I saw a letter written by Brian Papa. That definitely goes in the "Who Cares?" files but I've been wanting to mention that for a while. I made scans of that issue of WOW that I've been meaning to post but I never got around to it. Not that anyone's missing anything though.

Anyway, here are a few highlights since my last entry

- Best Buddies Leadership Conference went well. Not entirely too much to report but I'm excited about starting the new school year. I really want a lot to change regarding my school's involvement with Best Buddies because I definitely feel more passionate about the organization. I met a lot of amazing girls, including three girls from Hong Kong, but the highlight of that weekend had to be meeting Maureen McCormick, also known to Brady Bunch fans as Marsha Brady.

- I've been feeling the need to make this update since their first appearance that I despised, but Cody Rhodes and Ted Dibiase are actually pretty amazing together. Separate the two and I'll probably be back to complaining but I really do enjoy their work. I really didn't see it coming but they really are becoming a main attraction on Raw.

- That being said, what about CM Punk? I love him to death but I kind of forgot about him.

- In my last bit of wrestling-related news: I really want to check out more of Brian Pillman. As a wrestling fan, I'm ashamed to admit that I really don't recall watching a Brian Pillman match. Maybe I saw a match of his back in the day when we used to rent the 'In Your House' videos but I really couldn't tell you anything about him.

- School is starting in a couple weeks and I still have to go back next week for Senior Mentor business, not to mention the fact that I volunteered to help with this program that they're doing to get kids ready for the school year. Fantastic. I really don't like kids.

- I'm buying my ticket to Warped Tour tomorrow. For a while it looked as though I wasn't going but it turns out that two of my friends are going so I'm just going to go with them. I'm really excited even though I forgot half the bands that are going to be there. I'm really just looking forward to Say Anything and Be Your Own Pet. I'm sure there are more to be excited about but I dont feel like looking.

- I made a couple graphics today. They're decent, IMO.

 FACT: I'm a girly girl.

Shopping, Starbucks, lipgloss, oversized sunglasses, Hollister, American Eagle, Victoria's Secret, pink, make-up-- you name it, I love it. One thing that I love more than anything else lately is make-up and I've been buying like crazy. I've just recently started collecting so I'm just dabbling at this point. Mary Kay, Covergirl, Prestige, Victoria's Secret, Maybelline, Nyx, Sephora-- I've tired my fair share of brands but the other day I picked up the brand of all brands.

The internet is a beautiful thing and I've picked up a hobby of watching make-up tutorials on YouTube to give me more inspiration. I could go on and on about the underlying issues of what I buy and why I buy but the fact of the matter is that MAC is the dominant brand for a good reason: quality. Everyone talks about how wonderful MAC is and I had to see for myself so I visited the MAC counter at Nordstrom's for the first time. I looked like an idiot but it was well worth it because I managed to pick up my very first MAC eyeshadow, Knight Divine.

At $14.50 the price wasn't too steep, but without a job, an addiction to wasting money at Starbucks, and the lack of transportation to a MAC store or counter, I'm going to start saving my money for my next visit though I've recently fell in love with a new item. I was browsing the 'net and I came across an Urban Decay palette. I've never used Urban Decay before but I know it's a good brand and I don't think the prices are too steep either. So I'm saving my money on that and with nearly $10 I have a little way to go, but that's only because pulling money out of my bank account will surely spark an argument with my mother who happens to be the nosiest person on Earth.

Luckily, my brother will buy things with his credit card if I supply him the money. How else do you think I ordered my PWG DVD?

By the way, I'm going to be away for a handful of days starting tomorrow, technically. I'm leaving for IU for a leadership conference and I'm very excited. That being said, I'll be back Monday hopefully with some good stories to share.

I'd like to credit wrestling_daily for perhaps a good majority of the images I use. The community is excellent and I thank them for not only fueling my muse but providing me with material for my work.

Bleh.

I can honestly say that I have no motivation for an entry but here are some highlights since we last met.

- I made a whole bunch of icons that I really like. Some of them were duds, as always, but for the most part they were pretty decent. The main focus was the ladies of Shimmer and I loved a lot of the pictures that I used. My favorite icon has to be of MsChif, which is unusual because I'm not a fan of her in particular. She's great but I've never been too crazy about her so I wasn't anticipating her icon being my favorite.

- My PWG Sells Out arrived at my house earlier today. It's three discs, nine hours, and I can wait to watch it. I tried watching a little bit of it but I wasn't in the mood. I wasn't expecting it though because the release date was July 15th, I believe, but it was a nice surprise. PWG, in my opinion, is the next big independent promotion. I'm not sure why they don't get as much attention as other promotions because I think they have the total package. They have the best blend of comedy and wrestling that I've seen, though I can't say I'm familiar with Chikara, which may be good competition. I think that might be my next purchase but I tend to buy based off of the wrestlers I'm most interested in at that moment and right now I'm really interested in Chuck Taylor and Joey Ryan so it will be a tough choice.

- I've decided to take up sewing. I want to make cool things and modify clothes that I'm not too satisfied with so that should be exciting. Unfortunately, my mother isn't entirely supportive, which is the case in all aspects of my life.

- I've been forced to clean my room for the past week because my parents have been home all week due to a vacation.

- Fourth of July weekend was spent in Pittsburgh. I liked seeing some of the family that I rarely see but I wasn't too thrilled with seeing the family members that I'm tired of. In unusual news, I took a sip of my dad's pepsi (in a McDonald's cup) to discover that it was not pepsi but some mixture of pepsi and alcohol. It touched my tongue and I started spitting it out. My family thought it was hilarious but I didn't mostly because I know that they're going to bring it up every time we get into a conversation about my whole straight edge deal.

- Note: I hate talking about straight edge because it always has that association with CM Punk. Love him to death but I always feel like a fangirl that throws the term around just because it's on a t-shirt. That is definitely not the case but I feel like an idiot nonetheless.

- JR's blog isn't as exciting as the small snippets I read on the internet make it seem. He has the dumbest commenters and I feel bad for him. By the way, no one can ever touch Lance Storm. He is my absolute favorite blogger and just reading his commentaries has made me a Lance Storm fan. I never disliked him but I like him so much more now that he can voice his opinions and what not. He's a smart guy and he thinks just like any (smart) wrestling fan.

- I've made a ton of sigs. Actually, not really. Maybe eight? I post at a message board and it really fuels my muse. Maybe it's this whole complex that I have where I thrive off of praise. I feel bad but I always turn bright green when I see comments for crappy graphics that people feel obligated to compliment just because the creator is a mod. I'm sorry, but I hate reading how amazing their graphics are when mine are much better and I'm lucky to get more than two comments. I'm not saying that I'm the best. No, I just get lucky with Photoshop. But I know that I'm better than a lot of people I see at that place.

- I'll never get tired of Rocketbusta Radio. If you don't listen to it then you need to. It's my favorite podcast and really the only wrestling podcast I can stomach. I've been listening to random episodes and I never get tired of them. I've listened to all 100+ and I'd hate to think of how many times I've actually listened to them.

- Now that I've typed this out, I feel the need to post graphics.

After scowering YouTube for clips of my newest source of intrigue, Ashley Lane, I stumbled across an interesting sight. There is a user who makes Top Ten videos and I started by checking out the Shimmer video but then I was looking through and curiosity led me to a few videos of female Japanese wrestlers. I have to say that I have never had my jaw literally drop just from videos. I was never aware of how exciting Japanese wrestling is. I have watched matches with people I'm familiar with like Alex Shelley, Steve Corino, Spanky and Amazing Kong but as great as they are I'm not sure they could come close to the wrestlers I saw. Male or female, I'm beginning to realize that Japan is so far ahead of the United States. You can't even imagine how fascinated I am.

Moments like this make me wish I was anything but a teenage girl without a steady source of income. Lately I've been getting my money through babysitting, which I tend to blow quickly by going to the mall or just going out with my friends. I really wish I had more money to spend on wrestling but right now I'm broke. I spent all my money on make-up, a necklace and a sweet Iron Maiden shirt. Luckily, I have a PWG DVD coming in. I pre-ordered their Best of PWG DVD and it's set for release on July 15th. Needless to say, I'm excited. I really need to get money together though. I really need to order some Shimmer DVDs as well as search through the Japanese promotions.

I might come back and edit this post to include some clips because they really were jaw dropping. I'm just a little lazy, unfortunately.

wtf?!

I have to say that I'm completely outraged by the WWE's draft. Not entirely, but for the most part..yes.

First of all, ECW is basically the Kiss of Death. No one really wants to go there but someone had to go. I'm not the biggest Matt Hardy fan but I was kind of upset to see that a tag team reunion was not going to happen. When they announced that Jeff Hardy was being traded to Smackdown I was actually kind of excited, despite the fact that I'm not a huge Hardy Boyz fan. I did like the idea of some life being put into the tag team division though.

The first draft pick, I have to say, really didn't do anything for me. Rey Mysterio Jr. has never been my favorite wrestler but I think he fits better with Smackdown's other wrestlers. I guess I can see the point of him being drafted with so many other wrestlers that he hasn't faced but I'm sure there won't be anything exciting with him. I can see him having an Intercontinental run but I don't see him being booked well.

I have to say that I was excited to see CM Punk being drafted to Raw. Really, I was crossing my fingers for that one through the first half of the show (or just about) and to see that he was drafted was great. I'm glad he's getting more exposure and to be honest, I just started DVRing ECW so I've missed a lot of his matches.

I was disappointed to see that none of the divas were drafted. I was definitely hoping that Nattie Neidhart (who I can't really bring myself to call Natalya) would be drafted and really, I think it's only a matter of time. With that ridiculous "next generation" stable that seems to be in the works I would love to see Nattie there as a part of it.

Side Note: I really want to like Ted Dibiase Jr., because I really do love his father. He is definitely one of my favorite wrestlers but somehow his son has none of his charisma. I couldn't bear to hear him on commentary because he bored me to death. It was terrible. I'm trying to like him but he's dull and predictable, which is why when he teams with DH Smith and Cody Rhodes I'll kill myself because none of them even slightly resemble their fathers as far as charisma goes. And really, isn't that the most important factor? Dusty and Ted Dibiase were both excellent promo guys and their offspring pale in comparison.

As far as Triple H goes seeing him leave was kind of shocking. I had heard talk of that happening but I can't see him on Smackdown. Really, a feud with Edge is the only thing I can see and I don't want to see that at all. Kane? I really don't care that he was drafted. I really don't have much to say about them.

Lastly, I'm outraged by the fact that JR was moved to Smackdown. Lawler and Cole had absolutely no chemistry on commentary. In fact, I was predicting that Tazz would be moved back to Smackdown and Foley would go to ECW. Really, wouldn't that make more sense?

I've been going through character withdrawl in my soaps. I'm an avid soap opera watcher and I watch all of them (though not as often as I would like because of my schedule). Anyway, I had this weird dream last week where I ran into my absolute favorite soap opera character: Anna Devane.

The scene looked like a crime scene that Anna was at and she was talking on the phone when I saw her. I had a huge, ridiculous smile and I hugged her and that's all I remember. I told my friend that I had a dream about a soap character but I didn't tell her the details. It's just kind of weird, isn't it? But it was the happiest moment of the month so far, which is sad because there are other things that should definitely surpass it like my discovery of Imaginary Bitches--- which stars Eden Riegel who played Bianca Montgomery (also on AMC), arguably tied as my favorite character.

I have to say that so far livejournal has confused me more than anything else. Isn't that pathetic? I can understand technology better than most people, and I'm very good at adapting but for some reason this is just giving me trouble. I can't find a layout that I like, I can't figure out how to do real cuts, and the most frustrating thing in the world is that livejournal just hates me.

Some of these are eerily similar but trust me, they're all different icons. There are subtle changes in color and positioning, which I'm weird about, so I usually make a few versions of things I can see different ways. Hopefully you like them, and if you do feel free to snag them. I just ask for you to comment back. I'm really not a credit freak as long as you don't claim them as your own, but I'd like to know which ones people like.

I have to say that this might be my first livejournal success story. Basically, I jump around these things a lot but I can never seem to keep interested in anything I do. Maybe this will prove that I can stick with something-- or maybe not.

I wish I had something interesting to report on or what not, but I don't. My life hasn't been that exciting lately but maybe in a few hours I'll catch you up on where my life is right now. At this very second it's nowhere really but I've got a few interesting people in my cast of characters so that's exciting, I guess. As of right now I think I'm going to explore the world of livejournal. Maybe find a not-so-scary community to join to make some friends and hopefully post some things I've made with photoshope. I'll probably post those later too because I don't think they're too hideous
